I am six months pregnant and I still don't know the best option option to give birth.

Private clinic like IASO seems too expensive and I dont know if it is safe to give birth in public hospital.

 

If anyone has experience giving birth in public hospital could you pls give the recommendations.

 

What about Attiko ? Does anyone know a good doctor there?

anyway, the choice is yours. i gave birth in iaso and it was o.k. but it costs a lot of money... if i finally conceive a second baby i will go to a public hospital. it is safer because all kinds of doctors are there. not only gynecologists...

in Greece public hospital maybe is more dirty but is a lot of safer than Private clinics.

Ι agree with dora. When mothers and babys has serius problem at birth they sent to public hospital like ALEXANDRAS, ELENAS.

Attiko is a new built hospital and it is veeery clean! At Elena Hospital, if you need privacy you can choose a single bed room or a LUX room at a very low cost (so low that most of us can afford it). Unfortunately, for personal reasons, I am going to deliver at Mitera, but if I had to choose another doctor I would choose a doctor from Elena or Attiko

There are a lot of public hospitals, some of them are teaching hospitals, they are very clean, with excellant doctors.

I gave birth in iaso and i will again because i trust my own doctor andon't want to change him, but the public hospitals are excellent.

They are: Alexandra, Elena, Attiko, Aretaieio.

If you are concerned if they are clean enough (they are very clean), you can ask for a single or double room at very low cost.
